Street League kicks off in Ballyfermot
Skillful display by soccer lads as league kicks off, Shaun Anthony reports


Wednesday February 6th saw the launch of the Ballyership Street league.
Ballyership was founded and run originally by Derek Ahern, Dublin City Council, to provide football / sport for local Ballyfermot groups and kids.
Reinstated by Ireland’s Issues Street Leagues it is now opened up to a broader participant base with teams from:
Cherry orchard, Candle workshop, Ring send Com training, Crumlin youth reach, Youthreach Ballyfermot, K T C T among those taking part.

It was an exciting days football with many of the players displaying their skills that may put them in the frame when it comes to selecting a team to represent Ireland in the Homeless Street Soccer tournament in Australia in Dec 08
