Homeless World Cup Melbourne Australia 2008 Ireland comprehensively beat the USA 11-2 in the Homeless World Cup Today. Watched by a crowd of 5,000 Ireland put on a display of power and skill to completely overwhelm their opponents. With Jimmy Bell opening the scoring for the Irish they were quickly pegged back to one a piece when they conceded a penalty Any fears that this equaliser would turn the tide were quickly dispelled when 2 quick goals from man of the match Ross Crosbie put ireland 3-1 up. The USA despite been well organised and physically strong had no answer to this skillful Irish side. Further goals from Jimmy Bell (3) Brian Coleman (2) Paul Farrell (2) and Ross Crosbie (4) saw Ireland demoralise a USA side who had quietly fancied their chances before the game. On the evidence of this display Ireland should qualify from their group and progress into the next round. However there are still 3 games to be played in this grouping. Ireland play Hong Kong and Kenya tomorrow and wins over both sides will see them safely into round 2 of the Homeless World Cup.
" Our Coach Dan Carey Has put in a lot of work with the boys over the last couple of months and todays result is a product of that endevour, it is correct to say we're all smiling tonight""
