In the concluding day of the second qualifying round of the Homeless World Cup Ireland Beat Germany 12-0 and Lithuania 8-2 to top their group. With a maximum of 15 points. And unbeaten in the tournament Ireland now qualify for the knock stages of the quarter finals which take place tomorrow Sat.
Ireland will play Ukraine in the quarter finals and should they be successful they will probably face Portugal in the afternoons Simi final. Ireland could then be in the final on Sunday. What an achievement that would be.
How long has it been since Ireland reached the final stages of a world tournament never mind win it. The prospect is there for these boys have done the business so far maybe now the media back home will give them some credit.
