Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser Nov 5th 2010 Red Cow Moran’s Hotel hosted the spectacular fundraiser ‘Strictly come dancing night’ in Aid of Ireland’s Homeless world Cup team. For the second year running the night proved to be a great success and has become a vital fundraising event for the Homeless World cup team. The night is all about amateur participants paired with professionals showing off their dancing skills in front of a live audience for the first time. Eight couples took to the floor while the judging panel offered their professional opinion it was left to the audience to use there voting power by way of putting their money on who they perceived to be the winner thus adding much needed funds to Irelands Homeless world cup fund There is little doubt that the standard of dance is reaching exceptional levels considering the participants had a limited time in which to prepare. Aisling Gaffney from Salesforce .com did the company proud with a powerful performance that had the crowd on their feet with a standing ovation. Of course the male members of the audience always appreciate beauty and talent and dressed in a seductive red dress her stunning performance of the pasodoble wowed them. It was a very close contest with each performer rising to the occasion and in a photo finish Dr Niall Conlon from St James Hospital edge across the finish line just ahead of Salesforce’s Aisling Gaffney. Any truth to the story that Dr Niall had a levied the patients of St James Hospital were denied. Stories that collection boxes were placed at the entrance to ER and OR with Support Dr Niall or else !! Were never substantiated and are believed to be malicious rumours put out there by scheming rivals. Only Joking !! Seriously it was a great night and each and every one of the dancers and supporters deserved immense credit. Much needed money was raised and despite the difficult times we’re experiencing it shows that people do care and are willing to help those less fortunate. We would like to thank all the participants and who made this such a memorable night our Judging panel and Spin Dance whose professionalism and help were invaluable. A particular word of thanks to our organizers on the night Frances Kavanagh & Sheila
