Dancing for the World Cup

Winners

Raising the funds towards getting Ireland's Homeless World Cup Team to the World Cup finals in Mexico next year was the goal of the recent 'Strictly Come Dancing' fundraiser held in the Red Cow Moran's Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin. The event organized by Frances Kavanagh and work colleague Sheila O'Brien was a tremendous success. Ten couples competed; a mixture of professional and amateur all received some training from Brian Redmond from Spin Dance and Fitness, Dublin. Ann Flood and partner Tom Lynch won the judges prize while Korstiaan Hardam of salesforce.com won the top prize for raising the most money for the event. Humphrey Cuzner and Serena Scully proved to be the most colourful couple of the night with their twenties styled outfits.
"We start fundraising immediately each world Cup is over, its on going and necessary especially in today's difficult times" says Frances whose involvement over the years has been a great help to her brother Sean, founder of the Homeless Street soccer league program. Frances is quick to praise all those who have helped her put this event together "Its heart warming and I fully appreciate all those who have come together to make this event so successful."
